Under The Avalanche

Under The Avalanche - Anne McCabe I was attracted to this book by the beautiful cover first and after reading the blurb decided this book sounded interesting.

An avalanche which occurs in Co Wicklow at the beginning of the century buries a family and new born baby who live in a cottage at the bottom of the Wicklow mountains.

This story centres on three generations of women struggling with secrets, hatred and unrequited love.

I found a lot happening in this novel with the three generations of women and at times I found the characters confusing. The story was interesting but just seemed too long winded. The ending was too contrived and all loose ends tied up too nicely.
